4) About FRAME-BY-FRAME ANIMATION

In tween animation, the Computer has some influence on the the exact nature of the changes experienced by the image subjected to tweening from one Keyframe to the other, at which Keyframes you have defined your images. The influence of the computer on the tweening is very apparent when an image is subjected to shape tween, during which you have only limited control over the transformation taking place in-between two adjacent Keyframes.

In a frame-by-frame animation, you would act as a catoonist who creates different images for each frame of the animation. All the timeframes are therefore essentially Keyframes. Only slight modifications are introduced to the image from one Keyframe to the next. Therefore, when played, the image seems to undergo smooth motion, which is predetermined by you.
